Good News! HUTB Receives Special Prize of Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award of Hunan

Recently, the Department of Education of Hunan Province issued the Notice on Announcing the Winning Programs of the 13th Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award of Hunan. The “Exploration and Practice on Supply-Side Reform in Digital Intelligence Management Personnel Training Led by ‘New Engineering Courses + New Business Courses’ Philosophy” program led by Chen Xiaohong, CAE Academician and HUTB Party Secretary received the special prize. This is the first time for HUTB to receive the special prize. It also represents another breakthrough since the “Exploration and Practice on Creating Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Platforms for Local Business Colleges” program led by Academician Chen Xiaohong received the higher education teaching achievement award at national level in 2018.

 

HUTB received 15 prizes of the teaching achievement award at provincial level, including 1 special prize, 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes and 6 third prizes for teaching achievements led by HUTB, and 1 first prize and 2 third prizes for teaching achievements participated by HUTB.

 

In recent years, following the educational philosophies of “new engineering courses + new business courses + new liberal arts courses” and the integrated development of science courses, HUTB has successively launched and implemented talent training programs such as “Three-Year Action Plan for First-Class Undergraduate Education” and “Excellent Talents Program”; strengthened the integrated development of modern information technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data and traditional disciplines, and given priority to setting new engineering disciplines that serve national and local strategies and dock with social demands; incorporated new-generation information technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence into the teaching practice of economic management disciplines, and promoted the transformation and upgrading of business disciplines through interdisciplinary integration; and opened academician excellent classes, and adopted the “major discipline + micro discipline” or “major discipline + minor discipline” model to empower the all-round development of students. HUTB also cooperated with Shanghai International Studies University and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics to create a digital intelligence management personnel training alliance and interschool multi-level collaborative education mechanism, so as to provide guarantee and support for the training of excellent innovative talents.

 

The teaching achievement award is one of the core metrics to demonstrate the teaching level and education quality of HUTB. More importantly, it guides HUTB to deepen the education and teaching reform and improve the connotation construction of higher education. Therefore, it is of great importance to contributing to the development, discipline construction, talent training and social influence of HUTB. Going forward, HUTB will tap into the characteristics and advantages of education and teaching, integrated resources, condense characteristics, strive to achieve outstanding results in this year’s teaching achievement award at national level, and make all-out efforts to elevate HUTB’s education and teaching level and talent training quality to higher levels.
